Vinny V – 3-D Artist

Stand right there!  You’re in 3-D!

3-D Artist on Venice Beach

I walked into Vinny V one sunny day holding out 3-D glasses to me.  I put the ‘50s-style paper spectacles on and stepped into his “paint-by-numbers-on-acid” world.  Beneath me,  a rectangle of red, green, blue and yellow paint spread out as if a carpet.  Through the glasses, it looked like I would fall into it if I stepped forward.

With a little coaxing from Vinny, I denied my instinct to “not step off a ledge” and BAM–I stepped forward–hovering above Venice Beach for a moment.

In these photos, the artist floats in 3-D above his work.  Go get your glasses!

Lee England, Jr. – Violinist

Street Violinist plays on Venice Beach
I came across Lee England, Jr. one sunny day.  He’s a classically-trained virtuoso violinist with a vibrant, intoxicating sound.

His style has been self-described as ”a musical gumbo of rhythm & blues, gospel, jazz, hip-hop and symphonic soul.”
