Originally from Auckland, New Zealand Matt Dowd has been ripping up the riffs on Venice Beach for over seven years. Influenced by Deep Purple and Kiss, Matt can often be found near the Sidewalk Cafe–singing and rocking for the crowd.

PROTECTED really and truly rocks. Matt is the first person I noticed when I arrived in Venice this summer. THen I got his album and played it in the car from Venice to SF and back. It made that scenery a lot more interesting.
I’ve playing guitar since more than 20 years and I first seen Matt this summer in august.
Man I was amazed by his feeling in playing
He’s such a great artist and listening to him, you can really feel the heart and soul of rock and roll and blues.
Gotta see him
One of the best I’ve had ever seen
